A roughly triangular edge-of-town pub, was a Doctors house up to the 1890s. Built on a former field of the same name (apparently because of its shape), it masqueraded as the Beadle in the late 80s and early 90s. The lounge area is towards the sharp end pool and darts at the blunt end. Licensee Steve Bazell with bar manager Luke have refurbished to a Local Pub theme. Regular evening events. Themed food nights. Patio. Own car park. Bus 28 stops at the door. Shakespeare CAMRA Pub of The Season - Spring 2012.
